The new Sarawak International Medical Centre SIMC supposed to start operational in 2008.

The project was launched in 1998 and expected to be completed within three years of the launch.

The JCI Standards Manual focuses on Patient-Centered functions such as the International Patient Safety Goals IPSG , Access to Care and Continuity of Care ACC , Patient and Family Rights PFR , Assessment of Patients AOP , Care of Patients COP , Anesthesia and Surgical Care ASC , Medication Management and Use MMU , and Patient and Family Education PFE.
